This artifact is a recommendation plan for Books r Us company system. This is an all-encompassing document that covers all the needs of a distributed system to meet the needs and expectations of the company. This artifact was created in the spring semester at SNHU for IT 431 software development and distributed systems. The original purpose of this item was to apply knowledge and understanding to create a distributed system to meet the needs of a business, as well as use models supported by Unified Modeling Language to construct the system, and lastly, to help choose and build a system that reflects object-oriented programming and architecture. A vast understanding of the company and its needs in accordance with the knowledge of distributed systems was needed for this project to be successful. I chose this item because I feel it reflects my understanding of not just the technology concepts but the understanding of matching a business needs with a technology solution. I think the artifact showcases my skills in UML and creating a system that best meets business requirements. The artifact as a whole represents the analysis, selection, creation, integration, evaluation and administration of a system. I learned a great deal from the artifact in how to create a system that meets user requirements. The biggest challenge for me in the project was the Network Use Cases. These were difficult to make match the needs of the business since there were so many processes that needed to happen within a limited number of Use Cases. I would not do anything differently if I had to redo this project. I feel this project is a completed work that shows my ability to correctly make a system within business boundaries. I think this artifact is applicable in the real would since many businesses would ask the same thing when the need arises for a new system. This artifact also focuses on all components of the system, meaning everything from networking to cloud services are covered.
