This artifact is the Executive Brief for XYZ Company that is transitioning from the use of Outlook in to G-Suite. This is a high level summary of the project that would be sent to upper management addressing key features for the company and its employees about the transition and expectations of G-Suite. This was created fall semester of 2017 at SNHU for IT-385 (IT Communications.) The original purpose of this artifact was to provide strong interpersonal and communication skills that show profound understanding in technology and applications. For this specific artifact there was a need to understand a high level summary and the ability to communicate this in an appropriate manner. I believe that I was able to complete this through the use of effective communication and provide a completed artifact for the executive brief. I choose this item to represent a formal technical writing style that would be expected for upper level management. I wanted to show case my writing abilities and offer another method of communication. This is just one piece of the project as a whole; the executive brief was written once the project was completed and a summary of findings could be presented in a clear and concise way. I learned a great deal about the need for target audiences’ understanding of transition and training in new software and how best to describe this need in concise writing. I would not do anything differently for this artifact but add updates as necessary to keep employees up to date and the system secure. This artifact was structured much like that of real life situation for companies that transition from older software to new updated versions or new applications entirely. The need to train employees in the new applications is a necessary business requirement so the business can continue functioning and less downtime occurs.
